The completion ceremony was attended by about 60 people, including Wando County Governor Shin Woo-cheol, National Assembly member Yoon Jae-gap, Jeollanam-do Council member Shin Ui-jun, heads of institutions and social organizations, and residents.
The Marine Climate Healing Center, completed for the purpose of the "Wando Marine Healing Blue Zone Creation Project," which was selected in 2019 by the National Balanced Development Committee's public contest, was built with an investment of 1.2 billion KRW. Construction began in September last year and was completed in six months.
The Marine Climate Healing Center is a one-story building with a total area of 371㎡, equipped with a multipurpose room, data room, changing room, and storage room.
Going forward, it will be operated as a space for various and customized marine healing programs such as beach Nordic walking and yoga, utilizing the clean environment and climate of Sinji Myeongsasimni.
Until now, marine climate healing programs were operated outdoors, but from now on, programs can be operated anytime at the Marine Climate Healing Center regardless of weather changes.
Additionally, it is expected to serve as a bridge to revitalize the marine healing industry in connection with the Marine Healing Center, a core facility of the marine healing industry, which began construction on March 31.
In Wando-gun, the Marine Healing Center, Marine Climate Healing Center, and Marine Culture Healing Center are being established in Sinji Myeongsasimni, and in Yaksan, efforts are being accelerated to develop the entire Wando area into a marine healing industrial complex by building a Marine Healing Experience Center linked with the Coastal Healing Forest and creating the Cheongsan Marine Healing Park.
