President Moon: "Achievements of US Visit Should Be Detailed to the Public by Sector"
Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom Directs Government Ministries at Weekly Meeting... Blue House Operates TF to Review US Visit Outcomes and Follow-up Measures
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 24th, President Moon Jae-in instructed each ministry to thoroughly inform the public about the outcomes of the Korea-US summit so that citizens can feel its impact during his weekly meeting with Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum.
Park Kyung-mi, the Blue House spokesperson, said in a written briefing that "After returning to Korea and completing quarantine procedures, President Moon immediately resumed work, continuing with the Prime Minister's weekly meeting and internal meetings."
President Moon urged, "Each ministry should provide detailed information to the public on the outcomes of the visit to the US in areas such as economic cooperation, vaccines, the Korea-US alliance, and the Korean Peninsula peace process, and concretize these so that citizens can feel the effects."
Earlier, Yoo Young-min, Chief of Staff to the President, reported the results of the senior officials' meeting on follow-up measures after the Korea-US summit held that morning. The plan included operating a Blue House task force (TF) to check and promote follow-up actions.
Spokesperson Park explained the report contents: "First, a pan-ministerial TF will be formed for key industries such as semiconductors, batteries, and vaccines to explore cooperation measures with the US; second, an expert working group involving pan-ministerial bodies and pharmaceutical companies will be established to set up a global vaccine partnership; third, to promote follow-up measures such as forming consortia of our companies, securing raw materials, technology transfer, and cooperation with COVAX, support measures will be devised at the government-wide level."
