Rivalry Among 야 Party Leadership Candidates Continues... Sports Cars, Trucks, Electric Cars, Carnival, and KTX Included
Rising Candidate Compared to 'Sports Car'
Kim Eun-hye and Lee Jun-seok Respond
Joo Ho-young: "It's Not the Car but the Driver's Issue"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] A sudden debate over 'cars' erupted among the People Power Party leadership candidates.
On the 24th, former lawmaker Na Kyung-won compared first-term and rookie candidates to 'sports cars,' sparking the situation. Following former Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok and lawmaker Kim Eun-hye, lawmaker Joo Ho-young also joined in, turning it into a confrontation between newcomers and veterans.
The opening salvo of this car debate was fired by former lawmaker Na Kyung-won. That morning, Na appeared on CBS Radio's Kim Hyun-jung's News Show and said, "This party leader position is not really about driving a cool and beautiful sports car, but about driving a heavily loaded cargo truck through narrow alleys."
Na compared the new candidates to sports cars. In contrast, she described experienced veteran candidates as cargo trucks, saying, "I think party members will judge between looking good and doing the work well."
In response, lawmaker Kim Eun-hye referred to herself as a 'Carnival' and sharply criticized Na's remarks. On the same day, Kim wrote on her Facebook, "(Na Kyung-won) compared new candidates to sports cars, but Kim Eun-hye rides a Carnival," adding, "The Carnival is a festival. If I become party leader, I plan to take presidential candidates around the country and hold an exciting presidential election festival."
She continued, "Cargo trucks also need good performance to avoid accidents in the presidential election," and countered, "If you load cargo on an old diesel vehicle, it loses power and is subject to driving restriction fines."
Former Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok also likened himself to an electric car. On his Facebook, Lee said, "Actually, the car I ordered earlier this year is an electric car that produces no exhaust, accelerates quickly, and has a dedicated electric car platform with a spacious interior to carry many people ? the ‘Ioniq 5’," adding, "It even has a function to share my car’s electricity with others when needed. I will do politics that is clean, lively, carries many people instead of cargo, and shares my power."

Joo continued, "I, Joo Ho-young, will put all talents across fields, generations, and regions on the KTX and speed down the fastest path to regime change," and said, "Whether it’s a sports car, cargo truck, electric car, or Carnival, I will definitely achieve regime change by removing the Moon Jae-in driver and bringing in the best driver."
