View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] SK Inc. C&C's artificial intelligence (AI)-based brain hemorrhage imaging interpretation solution has completed clinical trials and is set to integrate with the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
On the 24th, SK Inc. C&C announced that it signed a "contract to supply the AI brain hemorrhage imaging interpretation solution linked with Infinite PACS" with Infinite Healthcare. Infinite Healthcare is a specialized medical imaging information solutions company and holds the number one market share in the domestic PACS market. Over 6,300 medical institutions in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Southeast Asia use Infinite Healthcare's medical imaging solutions for diagnosis.
Infinite PACS digitizes images taken from various medical imaging devices such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, supporting rapid use for interpretation and collaborative diagnosis. Under this contract, any facility using Infinite PACS will be able to utilize the AI brain hemorrhage imaging interpretation solution through an upgrade of the existing PACS software.
The AI brain hemorrhage imaging interpretation solution analyzes a patient's brain CT images within seconds and categorizes the severity of brain hemorrhage into seven levels, displaying the analysis results on Infinite PACS. When the highest level, Level 1 (Red Level), is detected, medical staff are promptly guided to prioritize the patient's imaging interpretation and initiate urgent treatment.
By marking abnormal areas within patient images and presenting the probability of disease, the solution supports the interpretation process, enhancing the accuracy of general physicians' readings to the level of neurovascular imaging specialists. This enables the identification of critical patients in emergency environments where imaging specialists cannot be present 24/7, thereby reducing the risk of disease progression.
Since 2019, SK Inc. C&C has been developing the AI brain hemorrhage imaging interpretation solution using a large dataset of over 800,000 brain CT images. Neurovascular imaging specialists from Seoul National University Hospital and Ajou University Medical Center participated in AI model data training and validation. The clinical trial, which concluded in March, confirmed the solution's performance and efficiency in actual medical settings. On the 11th, the solution received Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). The application for medical device approval has also been submitted to the MFDS.
Kim Dong-wook, CEO of Infinite Healthcare, stated, "Brain hemorrhage is an emergency condition where the golden time is critically important, making rapid and accurate image interpretation essential. With SK Inc. C&C's AI solution integrated into Infinite PACS, we expect to support medical staff in efficient diagnosis."
