Today (the 23rd), Hangil Research announced that it conducted a poll on the party leader support rate among 1,000 adults on the 22nd, the deadline for registering as a candidate for the People Power Party leader. The survey was commissioned by Cookie News, and the margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
The survey results showed that former Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok's support rate was 30.1%, the highest among the candidates. He led former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, who ranked second with 17.4%, by 12.7 percentage points.
Lee’s support base was mostly composed of males (35.8%), people in their 30s (36.2%), and those with moderate political tendencies (36%).
Following were lawmaker Joo Ho-young with 9.3%, lawmaker Kim Woong with 5.0%, lawmaker Kim Eun-hye with 4.9%, lawmaker Hong Moon-pyo with 3.7%, and lawmaker Cho Kyung-tae with 2.8%. 'Others/Don’t know/No response' accounted for 23.6%.
This result reverses the previous poll conducted by the same organization from the 8th to the 11th. At that time, former lawmaker Na had 15.9%, and former Supreme Council member Lee had 13.1%. However, since the People Power Party leader is elected by combining 70% party member votes and 30% general public opinion polls, there are opinions that the poll results will not directly determine the outcome.
