[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) stated on the 23rd regarding the Korea-US summit, "We hope that Korea and the US will become the number one economic cooperation partners leading the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the era of digital transformation."
In a commentary released that day, KITA said, "We highly welcome the agreement reached at this Korea-US summit for close cooperation between the two countries to establish supply chains in advanced manufacturing sectors such as semiconductors and electric vehicle batteries," adding, "This is regarded as a very valuable achievement amid the global supply chain crisis caused by the recent pandemic."
Furthermore, it said, "In addition, strengthening cooperation on vaccine collaboration, peace on the Korean Peninsula, and climate change response once again confirms that Korea and the US are leading actors not only in economic cooperation but also in world peace and shared prosperity," adding, "In particular, the vaccine alliance between the US’s advanced technology and Korea’s manufacturing capabilities will be an important step in overcoming the global economic crisis caused by COVID-19."
