Gyeongju City Library Operates Follow-up Program for 'Bookstart'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongju City Library announced on the 21st that it will operate the follow-up program of Bookstart, which was suspended due to COVID-19, in a non-face-to-face manner starting next month.
Bookstart is a reading culture movement aimed at starting life with books, providing children with opportunities to easily access books. Classes will be held every Wednesday from the 9th of next month to July 14th, and any parent in Gyeongju with children aged 18 to 36 months can participate.
Users join the Gyeongju City Library Bookstart follow-up program Naver Band, listen to pre-recorded classes by volunteers, experience follow-up activities suggested in the classes, and communicate with each other through the Band. Registration for classes can be done on the Gyeongju City Library website starting from the 25th of this month.

Park Yong-seop, director of Gyeongju City Library, said, "We expect this program to provide a safe reading experience opportunity for children who cannot go outside due to COVID-19."
