The amendment includes provisions to expand the scope of persons related to the May 18 Democratic Movement and to broaden the recipients eligible for medical benefits support. It added spouses in common-law relationships to the scope of bereaved families and established grounds for recommending reinstatement and erasing academic disciplinary records for related persons. Additionally, among those receiving other support funds, individuals recognized by the Minister of Health and Welfare as needing medical benefits can now receive medical benefits support. Until now, under the current law, those receiving support funds were not recognized as eligible for medical benefits.
