Yangcheon-gu Youth Space ‘Mujungryokjidae Yangcheon’ Selected in Ministry of Employment and Labor’s ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ Final Competition
Providing Customized Programs for Job-Seeking Discouraged Youth to Support Their Transition into the Labor Market... Close Counseling, Confidence Recovery, Career Exploration, and Employment Competency Enhancement for Youth Job Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Sooyoung)’s youth space ‘Mujungryukjidae Yangcheon’ has been finally selected in the ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ competition hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
‘Mujungryukjidae Yangcheon’ (359 Omok-ro) was also selected as the best institution for two consecutive years since 2019 in the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s Youth Center Project through various youth support programs.
The ‘Youth Challenge Support Project’ being promoted this time is a project that supports job-seeking activities of discouraged youth aged 18 to 34 who have no employment, education, or vocational participation history for more than six months.
The district plans to discover 250 discouraged youth by December this year, invest 300 million KRW in national funds (including 100 million KRW incentives), and 40 million KRW in district funds to promote related projects. Youths who complete the program will be actively supported to be linked to the National Employment Support System so that practical help can continue.
To this end, the district will discover discouraged youth and conduct ‘case management’ through close counseling, life management, and health and psychological counseling to identify individual needs. Afterwards, programs for self-exploration and relationship building will be systematically operated, including ‘confidence recovery,’ ‘career exploration,’ and ‘employment competency enhancement’ programs.
In addition, through ‘Yangcheon-gu customized programs’ such as unique job briefings, my first resume in life, and certification study groups linked to job-seeking youth, it plans to help young people enter the labor market.
Youths who complete the related programs will receive an allowance of 200,000 KRW and will receive necessary services for social life and labor market entry even after participating in the program. Youths who wish to participate in the program can apply from the end of May through Worknet, the employment information system of the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
