Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Successfully Concludes 'School Violence Prevention Bilingual Slogan Contest'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Women and Youth Division of Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju announced on the 20th that it held the "1st Gwangsan Police Station School Violence Prevention Bilingual Slogan Contest."
In Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, 50.8% of the region's multicultural and foreign families reside.
Accordingly, Gwangsan Police Station promoted this contest to foster happy school lives free from discrimination and to raise awareness and prevent school violence among multicultural and foreign students attending schools in the jurisdiction.
The contest received a total of 177 entries from students attending 45 elementary schools in the district from the 1st to the 14th, selecting a total of seven winners: one grand prize, two gold prizes, two silver prizes, and two bronze prizes.
To ensure fair judging, two high school teachers were specially appointed, and the final judging was conducted in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Division.
For the 15 finalists, a sticker-based preference evaluation was conducted with the participation of all Gwangsan Police Station staff.
The grand prize was awarded to Mariyam, a 4th grader at Wolgok Elementary School; the gold prizes went to Alexandria Lee, a 3rd grader at Yeongcheon Elementary School, and Pan Elizabeth, a 5th grader at Hanam Jungang Elementary School; the silver prizes were awarded to Choi Roa, a 1st grader at Jeongam Elementary School, and Choi Valeriya, a 4th grader at Wolgok Elementary School; and the bronze prizes went to Jo Yoonjung and Jo Eunchan, 6th graders at Saebyeol Elementary School.
The awardees will receive certificates and prizes from the police chief.
