HMM, 23rd Temporary Ship Departure... Deployment of Multipurpose Vessel
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] HMM announced on the 20th that it has added one temporary vessel bound for the Americas to support the smooth export of domestic companies.
The temporary vessel deployed this time is a Multipurpose Vessel (MPV), which usually transports ultra-large special cargo and heavy cargo such as petrochemical facilities and power generation equipment, but can also carry containers if necessary.
The 1800 TEU-class multipurpose vessel Urania, which departed from Busan on the day, loaded 1474 TEU of cargo. Most of the cargo was shipped by domestic shippers, and it is scheduled to sail directly to Savannah, located on the east coast of the United States, on the 14th of next month.
In addition to the Urania, HMM has deployed multipurpose vessels five times so far to Vostochny in Russia, Haiphong in Vietnam, New York in the United States, and other locations.
