Gyeongbuk Province Launches 4th Industrial Revolution Basic Plan... Establishes Roadmap for Discovering New Industries
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 19th that it held a kickoff briefing session on the research project for establishing a basic plan to discover and foster new growth industries and formulate long-term strategies in response to the 4th Industrial Revolution era at the Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute on the 18th.
The briefing session was organized to share the project implementation plan with the executing agency, Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute (Director Woo Byung-gu, Principal Researcher Noh Jin-su), and to gather expert opinions in order to secure industrial policies that reflect the direction of industries in the Gyeongbuk region and are tangible to the residents.
Since 2017, Gyeongbuk Province has formed the 4th Industrial Revolution Strategy Committee and Executive Committee, and has been striving to discover innovative growth industries through activities such as international forums (November 2017, October 2018), policy task discovery projects (December 2017), 4th Industrial Revolution leading strategies and response plans (January 2018), core task discovery (2020), and the 2020 Gyeongbuk 4th Industrial Revolution Technology Expo (November 2020).
Starting with this kickoff briefing session, the province plans to broadly incorporate the voices of all industry, economy, and employment experts familiar with Gyeongbuk, universities, related departments, and field stakeholders (such as businesspeople).
