"Get Vaccinated with Peace of Mind" Busan City and Business Community Hold Joint Declaration Ceremony for 'Paid Vaccine Leave' Implementation
At 1:30 PM on the 18th, Busan Chamber of Commerce, Busan Employers Federation, and Busan Companies Join at City Hall
Up to 20 Million Won Treatment Support Along with Government Subsidies for Vaccine Side Effects

Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) will hold a joint declaration ceremony for the ‘Implementation of Paid Leave for COVID-19 Vaccination’ at 1:30 PM on the 18th in the 26th-floor conference room of City Hall, attended by Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jang In-hwa), Busan Employers Federation (Chairman Shim Sang-gyun), and outstanding mid-sized companies in employment and sales based in Busan.
Companies participating in the ‘Paid Leave’ implementation declaration ceremony include Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd., Seowon Distribution Co., Ltd., SNT Motiv Co., Ltd., Sebang Co., Ltd., BNK Financial Group, Jokwang Paint Co., Ltd., and Daesun Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
This event is held to encourage citizens’ participation in vaccination by uniting the public and private sectors to overcome COVID-19 early, amid citizens’ concerns and worries about side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Companies are actively implementing paid leave for vaccination to support the government and Busan City’s COVID-19 vaccination efforts and to reduce the burden on employees.
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Busan Employers Federation are supporting vaccination participation and the spread of implementation mainly among their member companies.
Busan City is encouraging vaccination participation by providing up to 20 million KRW in treatment costs along with government support funds in case of vaccine side effects.
This joint declaration for the implementation of paid leave for vaccination, with participation from the local business community, is an attempt to increase the COVID-19 vaccination rate along with the support measure of up to 20 million KRW (including government support) for side effects announced by Busan City on the 14th.
Busan City aims to vaccinate 2.37 million people (70% of the city’s population) to form herd immunity against COVID-19, and as of the 17th, 230,000 people, or 9.7% of the target, have completed the first dose.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun of Busan said, “Despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19, I express my gratitude to the business community for joining the implementation of paid leave for vaccination as a part of mutual cooperation and sharing of pain.”

Mayor Park added, “We will do our utmost as a leading city in COVID-19 response to increase the vaccination rate, overcome COVID-19 as soon as possible, and return to daily life.”
