The fire authorities believe the amount of leaked gas was not large and are investigating the cause of the accident.
At this plant, a chlorine gas leak accident also occurred on the 30th of last month, and the Yeosu Chemical Disaster Joint Prevention Center detected four violations of the Chemical Substances Control Act.
Meanwhile, chlorine gas is classified as a hazardous chemical substance under the Chemical Substances Control Act, specifically as an "accident preparedness substance" with a high risk of accidents.
