Gangdong-gu Hosts '2022 Smart Career and College Admission Fair'
From June 7, Online College Admission Strategy Briefings and Career Counseling via YouTube... Providing Customized Information to Examinees through Various Online Consultations Using Gangdong e-Studio
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the ‘2022 Gangdong Smart Career and College Admission Fair’ for two weeks from June 7 to 19.
Although the situation has stabilized relatively compared to last year when COVID-19 occurred, there is still a high possibility of changes in the academic schedule this year, and the overwhelming amount of diverse and vast information about college admissions has made it more difficult for examinees to access accurate career and college admission guidance.
Accordingly, Gangdong-gu has prepared the ‘2022 Smart Career and College Admission Fair’ to provide practical and reliable college admission information to examinees and parents.
Gangdong-gu, which opened the nation’s first 3D virtual remote system ‘Gangdong e-Studio,’ will conduct an online college admission strategy briefing and customized one-on-one career, college admission, and major counseling using a real-time remote video system.
This career and college admission fair will be held online for two weeks starting June 7. In addition to Gangdong e-Studio, the district plans to operate a total of two studios by additionally establishing a mobile studio.
Although the counseling period has been shortened by two weeks compared to last year, the number of studios has increased to expand the participating institutions and counseling sessions.
On June 10 and 12, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., the college admission strategy briefing will be broadcast on Gangdong-gu Office’s YouTube channel. Author Kwonwoo Park, who wrote ‘Eating Watermelon and Going to College,’ will appear to analyze the 2022 admission strategies and explain the characteristics of major university admission types. The video will be publicly open so that not only Gangdong residents but also examinees and parents nationwide can watch it.
From June 7 to 15, customized counseling with admission officers from major universities will take place, and from June 16 to 18, a program will be held where mentors who are university students from 18 different majors provide specific and practical counseling on major and career choices.
On June 12 and 19, one-on-one online counseling with career and college admission counseling teachers composed of representative lecturers from the Korea Council for University Education will be available. Comprehensive career and college admission counseling tailored to admission types, eligible universities (departments), and individual student characteristics will be provided.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “This Smart Career and College Admission Fair was prepared to coincide with the end of the June mock exam. We hope it will help examinees and parents reduce their concerns about college admissions and set admission strategies and goals.”

This online career and college admission fair can be applied for on a first-come, first-served basis through the Gangdong-gu Future Education Innovation Center website, and inquiries can be made to the Education Support Division of Gangdong-gu Office.
