Did a person like a 'Teacher's Day Cake' send to Cho Kuk and Chu Mi-ae?
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Seoyoung] Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk and former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae revealed the appreciation cakes they received on 'Teacher's Day.'
Former Minister Cho Kuk posted on his Facebook that "It is 'Teacher's Day' for teachers who cannot return to school," along with a photo of a three-tiered cake. However, some questioned how former Minister Cho, who has low support among Seoul National University students, could receive an appreciation cake.
Former Minister Cho was suspended from his position in January last year after being indicted by the prosecution over allegations of family corruption. However, when it became known that he was receiving an annual salary of 40 million KRW without lecturing as a professor at Seoul National University, opposition parties demanded his dismissal from the professorship. Seoul National University, however, deferred judgment, stating, "We will consider disciplinary action once the first trial verdict is out."
On the same day, former Minister Chu Mi-ae posted a photo of a three-tiered cake with the phrase "Thank you, former Minister Chu Mi-ae, on Teacher's Day" on her Facebook. Former Minister Chu added, "Those who have supported livelihood reform and prosecution reform sent flowers, cakes, and rice cakes with special and heartfelt feelings through the Ddanji bulletin board on Teacher's Day, and I will not forget it."
Some netizens claimed that the cakes revealed by former Minister Cho and former Minister Chu looked similar. Former Minister Cho has currently set the post to private.
