The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Financial Crime Investigation Unit announced that from around 9 a.m. on the 14th, they conducted searches and seizures at five locations, including Guri City Hall and the residences of the suspects, in connection with the real estate speculation allegations against the affiliated public officials.
The police have been investigating allegations that Guri City Hall officials obtained advance information about the development of the 'E-Commerce Logistics Complex' being established in the Sanonong area of Guri City, and purchased land near the planned development site (violations of the Anti-Corruption Act and the Real Name Real Estate Act).
