View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] Choi Tae-won, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, made his first visit to the National Assembly since taking office. Chairman Choi met with Park Byeong-seok, Speaker of the National Assembly, as well as Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party, and Kim Ki-hyun, acting leader of the People Power Party. Although Chairman Choi's visit to the National Assembly was primarily a courtesy call following his inauguration, attention is focused on whether he requested a pardon for Samsung Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong from the political circles. Chairman Choi's name was included on the petition for Lee's pardon, which was submitted to the Blue House last month on the 26th under the names of the heads of five economic organizations.
