Gyeongnam Province Launches Investigation into the Use of Highly and Moderately Toxic Pesticides at Golf Courses
Inducing Reduction in Pesticide Use... Expected to Prevent Water Pollution and Protect Residents' Health
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do is conducting a survey on the usage of pesticides at 42 golf courses within the province from June 3rd to June 18th to assess pesticide use in the first half of this year.
This survey aims to prevent soil and water pollution caused by pesticide use at golf courses and to encourage voluntary reduction in pesticide usage.
The main contents include testing pesticide residue levels at each golf course, checking for the use of highly toxic pesticides, recommending the use of eco-friendly and biological pesticides, and promoting voluntary reduction of pesticide use.
According to the pesticide usage survey results from 2018 to 2019, pesticide use increased from 17.1 kg/ha in 2018 to 21.2 kg/ha in 2019.
