Lee Jae-yong Appoints Former Legal Secretary Kim Hyung-yeon as Defense Attorney
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong has appointed former legal secretary Kim Hyung-yeon (29th Judicial Research and Training Institute class), who worked at the Blue House Civil Affairs Office under the Moon Jae-in administration, as his legal representative.
According to the legal community on the 12th, former Secretary Kim submitted a power of attorney to the Criminal Division 25-2 of the Seoul Central District Court, which is handling Vice Chairman Lee's case, on February 26, and attended the first trial session on April 22.
Former Legal Secretary Kim, a former judge, served as the Legal Secretary at the Civil Affairs Office from 2017 to 2019. He later served as the head of the Ministry of Government Legislation and opened a law practice last year.
