Lee Chun-yeon, CEO of Cine2000 and Producer of Whispering Corridors, Passes Away
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Lee Chun-yeon, CEO of Cine2000 and a leading producer in the Korean film industry known for producing the Whispering Corridors series, passed away on the 11th at the age of 71.
Lee attended a meeting of the Asiana International Short Film Festival the day before but felt unwell and returned home. After arriving home, his family found him collapsed due to a heart attack.
Born in Sinan, Jeollanam-do, he graduated from Chung-Ang University with a degree in Theater and Film. After starting on the theater stage in 1970, he began working in the film industry in 1983. He planned and produced films such as Widow Dance (1984), Plate Flower You, Happiness Is Not Based on Grades, Heroic Legend, and The Terror Live.

The funeral will be held as a film industry memorial. The funeral hall is set up at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital. The memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on the 15th.
