Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, Invites Kim Hongsang, President of Korea Rural Economic Institute, for Special Lecture
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] On the 12th, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it held a special lecture by inviting Kim Hong-sang, President of the Korea Rural Economic Institute, at Yunsangwon Hall on the 7th floor of the government building.
President Kim Hong-sang presented directions to solve agricultural and rural issues in the post-COVID-19 era through a lecture titled "Gwangsan Where Cities and Rural Areas Are Happy."
The Korea Rural Economic Institute is the largest think tank in East Asia researching rural economy, established in 1978 as a government-funded research institute under the Prime Minister's Office.
This lecture was arranged after Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, who was contemplating issues such as labor shortages due to aging in Gwangsan-gu's agriculture and rural areas, personally visited the Korea Rural Economic Institute.
The lecture was attended by local agricultural cooperatives, farmers' organizations, local council members, and public officials.

Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan-gu, said, "We will focus our utmost efforts to develop agriculture and rural areas that can coexist with the city, such as our wheat industry, Gwangsan-type food plan, and agricultural policy development."
