Yeonggwang-gun Holds Final Report Meeting on 'Energy Convergence Industry Platform Establishment'
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 12th that it held the final report meeting for the 'Establishment of Basic Plan and Feasibility Study for Energy Convergence Industry Platform Construction' at the small conference room of the county office on the 11th.
The report meeting aimed to create new value through mutual growth in each area by building an energy-related network including education, research, exhibition, and experience to foster the energy industry and revitalize the local economy using renewable energy power generation facilities concentrated mainly in Baeksu and Yeomsan.
Specifically, the county plans to establish a job training center on idle land in Hasa-ri, Baeksu-eup, to cultivate proactive future talents through basic safety, rescue work, and power generation facility technology education.
In addition, to actively respond to the development of the renewable energy maintenance and repair industry and strengthen global technological competitiveness, it proposed the establishment of a data center for AI technology development and efficiency improvement of maintenance and management (O&M) linked with next year's government proposed project, 'Development of Offshore Energy Integrated Management Digital SOC Platform.'
Permanent, planned, and special exhibition halls, an energy library, and energy media experience centers operated directly by local power companies related to renewable energy were introduced to serve as educational institutions outside of schools.
In the mid-term, it planned to create a nighttime wind power landscape using offshore wind turbines in Duuri, Yeomsan-myeon to attract tourists' attention, and to develop a specialized street with ▲observation towers and rest sales facilities ▲family camping facilities ▲e-mobility trails ▲walking paths ▲windmill hills ▲and sculptures installed using embankment parapets.
It suggested ways for external tourists to stay and enjoy the region, and further set the cluster creation project for establishing a hydrogen industry promotion base in line with the government's hydrogen industry promotion policy as a long-term business goal.
