Ministry of Foreign Affairs: "No Details to Confirm on North Korea-US Contact"... 3 Indian Residents in Korea Die from COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs refrained from commenting on reports that the United States contacted North Korea to explain its North Korea policy and that North Korea responded by saying it "received it well," stating, "There is nothing to confirm."
At a regular briefing on the 11th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Choi Young-sam responded to a reporter's question about the report by saying, "There is nothing the South Korean government can confirm regarding contact between North Korea and the U.S."
Spokesperson Choi said, "Confirming that part (contact between North Korea and the U.S.) is not something our government should do," adding, "I believe there is already a lot contained in the fact that we have nothing to confirm." This implies that the respective countries should disclose whether contact between North Korea and the U.S. has occurred.
Amid the severe COVID-19 situation in India, it has been revealed that 173 Korean residents in India have tested positive so far. Spokesperson Choi stated, "It has been confirmed that 173 cases have been reported locally in India, with 115 recovered and 3 deaths." The number of those hospitalized, quarantined, or repatriated reaches 55.
