Muan-gun Implements Youth Digital Job Support Project
Support for Employing 12 Youths at 11 Business Sites in the District
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) announced on the 11th that it has launched a youth digital job support project targeting small business owners and small and medium-sized enterprises from the 3rd to revitalize the employment market, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19.
This project connects youth who can perform non-face-to-face and digital job duties to local workplaces. From May to December, for up to 8 months, companies receive support of 1.8 million KRW for labor costs and up to 250,000 KRW for the four major insurance premiums borne by the workplace, while young workers receive 300,000 KRW for transportation allowance and 100,000 KRW for self-development expenses such as acquiring certifications.
After the recruitment announcement in March, the county conducted document screening and interviews, matching 12 youths to 11 workplaces.
The newly hired youths are expected to perform duties such as managing company websites, online marketing, and video production. More than 90% of participating workplaces expressed positive responses to the project, indicating their intention to continue employing the young workers after the project ends.
Governor Kim San said, “We expect to alleviate the recruitment difficulties of companies caused by COVID-19 by connecting local companies with youths who have excellent job skills,” adding, “We will continue to strive to resolve employment difficulties and support the stable settlement of youths in the region.”
