May 10th every year is designated as "Sea Planting Day," a legal commemorative day to raise public awareness of the importance of the underwater ecosystem and the seriousness of its degradation, and to celebrate the creation of sea forests with nationwide interest.
About 20 local fishing cooperative members directly participated by attaching gompi (brown seaweed) seeds affixed to eco-friendly seed lines to soil bricks and throwing them into the sea, serving as an important opportunity to recognize the importance of the underwater ecosystem and join efforts to save the sea.
