"Popular Movies and Dramas for 5,500 KRW per Month" SKB Launches 'Ocean Select'
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] SK Broadband announced on the 11th that it will launch a subscription service called 'OCEAN SELECT,' which allows users to watch popular movies and overseas dramas for 5,500 KRW per month.
This service is a condensed version of the existing B tv movie subscription OCEAN, designed to enable viewers to access carefully selected high-quality content at an affordable price in the expanding media market dominated by online video streaming services (OTT).
Among the existing OCEAN content (approximately 11,000 movies), 20% of the most popular movies and overseas dramas favored by subscribers have been selected for this service. It includes Hollywood hits such as 'Knives Out' and '1917,' as well as popular American dramas like 'S.W.A.T' and 'Good Doctor.' Initially, 1,615 movies and 419 seasons of overseas dramas will be available, with popular content updated weekly.
The subscription fee is 5,500 KRW per month (including VAT), significantly reducing the cost compared to existing OTT fees to lessen the burden on subscribers. Upon subscribing, users can watch all content within the category without limits.
Content can be enjoyed not only on TV but also via 'Mobile B tv,' allowing viewing on smartphones. VODs being watched can be continued seamlessly on both TV and smartphones through the 'Continue Watching' feature. Subscriptions can be made through the B tv home screen → subscription menu or by contacting SK Broadband Customer Center (dial 106 without area code).
To commemorate the launch of OCEAN SELECT, SK Broadband plans to hold a '1+1' event until the 31st.
