The city announced on the 10th, "The purpose of this public contest project is to improve residents' quality of life by promoting projects that address regional issues such as aging through the application of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) technology."
In this contest, 30 local governments nationwide submitted project plans, and after document and presentation evaluations, five local governments including Uijeongbu City were selected.
The city participated in the contest by establishing a plan for the 'Smart Base Camp Heungseon Foundation Construction' in the Heungseon-dong Administrative Welfare Center area, aiming to promote economic vitality, create a smart cultural welfare hub for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, and develop a digital pedestrian safety environment.
The plan includes creating a digital economic hub by supporting a smart farm system for cultivating specialized crops (mushrooms) in neglected underground spaces of the target site and establishing a non-face-to-face creative planning station in a youth cooperative activity space.
Furthermore, a smart quarantine system will be installed at the Heungseon Senior Welfare Center, a hub space for the elderly, and a Green Cube providing a digital resting environment with plant vegetation and public WiFi will be prepared.
Additionally, in areas where facilities such as lighting are outdated and pose risks such as crime exposure, a multipurpose smart pole will be installed to create a comprehensive digital safe pedestrian path.
The city will receive 550 million KRW in national funds out of the total project cost of 1.1 billion KRW from this contest selection, secure local funds, and after detailed design implementation, will proceed with the project from the second half of the year.
