Yangcheon-gu Joins Seoul Metropolitan Government Integrity Society Public-Private Council
62 Organizations from Public Institutions, Civil Society, Economy, and Media Join the 'Seoul Integrity Public-Private Council'... Aiming for Top Integrity Ratings and Grade 1 Achievement in 2021 with Various Integrity Policies
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has joined the 'Seoul Metropolitan Government Integrity Society Public-Private Council,' which includes a total of 62 public and private institutions, actively collaborating with various sectors of society to foster a culture of integrity.
The 'Seoul Metropolitan Government Integrity Society Public-Private Council' is an ad hoc organization established in 2018 that gathers voices from various social fields and jointly promotes integrity policies and anti-corruption projects among all member institutions.
Additionally, each institution prepares representative action tasks, shares best practices and policies, and works together to widely spread the culture of integrity.
By joining as an integrity practice agreement institution, the district will actively collect citizen proposals on anti-corruption policies, promote integrity practice movements, and cooperate in sharing the implementation status of integrity practice tasks.
Through joining the council, the district expects to activate resident participation in anti-corruption policies and further spread the culture of integrity.
Meanwhile, the district is promoting various anti-corruption integrity policies aiming to achieve the highest integrity rating and first grade in 2021.
Last year, the district ranked second grade in comprehensive integrity for five consecutive years in the '2020 Public Institution Integrity Measurement' conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, with scores showing an upward trend for seven consecutive years.
Also, it has maintained the highest grade among Seoul’s autonomous districts for four consecutive years.
This year, based on four key policies?▲building an integrity ecosystem infrastructure ▲strengthening audit activities and establishing public service discipline ▲spreading an organizational culture of living integrity ▲expanding a culture of integrity communicating with residents?the district plans to focus on establishing a culture where employees and residents mutually encourage integrity.
In addition, the district will implement various anti-corruption integrity policies in diverse areas, such as customized integrity education to raise awareness of various corruption risks, operating a Clean Report Center for voluntary return of improperly received money or goods, strict disciplinary actions against violations of public service discipline and codes of conduct, and strengthening internal inspection activities, aiming to create a clean and transparent Yangcheon-gu trusted by all residents.
