Police Arrest Teens Who Forced Cash from Peers While Riding in Rental Cars
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Teenagers who roamed around in a rental car with peers and robbed cash were caught by the police.
According to the police on the 8th, the Gangdong Police Station in Seoul is investigating four teenage youths on charges of special robbery after they assaulted two peers in Suyu-dong, Gangbuk-gu the day before, forced them into a rental car, and went around looking for ATMs to extort money.
They committed the crimes using a rental car registered under someone else's name and were caught around 1 a.m. in Gangdong-gu while fleeing. They also caused an accident by crashing into a guardrail while driving. It is known that they had about 3 million won in cash when apprehended.
