Jin Joong-kwon "Lee Jun-seok Party Leader? ...From Taegeukgi to Small Pepper Unit for Generational Change"
[Asia Economy Reporter Joo-mi Lee] Former People Power Party Supreme Council member Lee Jun-seok has expressed his intention to run for party leader, while former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon criticized him, saying it is "an attempt to build name recognition ahead of the general election."
On the 6th, Professor Jin shared an article on his Facebook containing Lee's claim that "the reason the younger generation responded to the conservative party in the April 7 by-elections is because gender conflict is the biggest issue," and he sharply criticized this view.
Professor Jin sarcastically remarked, "(He) has no chance of becoming party leader, but if he does, it would mean a generational change from the Taegeukgi Unit to the Small Chili Pepper Unit," adding, "The Small Chili Pepper Unit is the digital version of the Taegeukgi Unit." The term "Small Chili Pepper" has recently been criticized as a misogynistic expression. This appears to be an argument that if Lee, who has been raising his voice as a representative of 'Idaenam (men in their 20s),' is elected, it is due to the support of some men involved in gender conflict.
He continued, "If this continues, losing the next election is certain," and pointed out, "They will realize how insignificant the anti-feminist votes really are."
Earlier, on the 6th, Lee Jun-seok announced his intention to run for party leader during a lecture at the Mapo Forum, a gathering of current and former People Power Party lawmakers, stating, "I am seriously interested in the party leader election and intend to challenge."

They also showed opposing views in the recent GS Retail poster controversy over 'misogyny.' When Lee criticized the controversial 'index finger' image, saying, "Camping where you grill hot dogs and pick them up with your hands is not emotional camping but crazy," Professor Jin immediately rebutted.
