At the signing ceremony, Myung Hyun-gwan, Haenam County Governor, Shin Dong-won, Dean of the College of Life Industry Sciences at Suncheon National University, Lee Ki-woong, Honorary Professor at Suncheon National University, and Song Kyung-hwan, Dean of Jeonnam Agricultural Meister University, attended and agreed to build a cooperative system to strengthen agricultural capabilities, including the establishment of an agricultural research complex for climate change response.
According to the agreement, the local government and regional universities will strengthen their connections and actively build a cooperative system to collaborate on various policy consultations and education for the overall agricultural development and the establishment of the climate change response agricultural research complex promoted by Haenam-gun.
Haenam-gun, the starting point of the Korean Peninsula and ranking first nationwide with 34,000 hectares of cultivated land, is actively working to establish response strategies in the agricultural sector, which will experience the most rapid changes as the gateway to climate change in Korea.
Through business agreements with universities representing the Jeonnam region, it is expected that various agricultural research capabilities will be strengthened and the attraction of public project businesses will be smoothly promoted in the future.
