Kim Eo-jun: "Conservative Media Completely Distorts 'Give Lee Jae-myung 10 Million Won to High School Graduates to Send Them on a World Trip'"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Eo-jun, host of TBS 'News Factory,' criticized conservative media on the 6th for their report titled "Lee Jae-myung, give 10 million won to people who didn't attend university to send them on a world trip," calling it "a case of completely distorting the governor's claim out of context."
On the broadcast that day, Kim said, "The claim (by the governor) should be accurately conveyed first, and then we should judge whether it is right or wrong, but this (conservative media) report distorted the claim itself out of context," pointing out, "If you look at the article, it was reported as if Governor Lee Jae-myung said to give 10 million won to young people who did not go to university to send them on a world trip."
However, he argued, "What Governor Lee actually said was at the 'Gyeonggi-do High School Graduate Employment Support Agreement Ceremony' held at Gyeonggi Provincial Office on the 4th, that university students receive public funds such as support or scholarships from the state, local governments, or universities simply because they attend university. Therefore, young people who do not attend university should also receive the same level of administrative support. That was the context of his statement."
Kim added, "The gist of Governor Lee's remarks that day was that this would broaden employment opportunities for high school graduates," and "He raised the issue of which experience is more valuable between someone who only attended university for four years and someone who traveled the world for four years with that cost."

He further stated, "I think Governor Lee's raising of this issue was very well done," and criticized again, "If this statement is distorted into 'Give 10 million won to people who didn't go to university to send them on a world trip,' that is distortion, but conservative media always write like this. Because of this, the original message was completely distorted."
