Increase in Ready-to-Eat Meal Consumption in the 'COVID-19 Era'... Gyeongnam Province Intensifies Crackdown on Livestock Product Manufacturers
Gyeongnam Province to Begin Planned Crackdown from the 10th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do will conduct an intensive crackdown for two weeks starting from the 10th on home meal replacement (HMR) manufacturers of livestock products within the province.
As the COVID-19 pandemic prolongs, consumer food preferences have changed, leading food manufacturers to launch HMR products and expand production of existing convenience foods. Along with this, residents' concerns about potential hygiene issues such as poor management of product processes and violations of standards and specifications are also increasing.
In this regard, the Gyeongnam Provincial Special Judicial Police plan to preemptively block the distribution of HMR products with a high likelihood of legal violations and defective HMR products distributed through marts, internet shopping malls, and social commerce platforms.
