Sancheong-gun Operates Joint Assistance Desk for Aggregate Income Tax and Local Income Tax Throughout May
Limited Reporting Support for Eligible Individuals to Prevent COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it will operate a joint assistance desk for comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax throughout May.
This measure follows the change allowing individual local income tax, which was previously reported together with national tax at the National Tax Service, to be reported at local governments as well.
The county will set up and operate a joint assistance desk for comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax in cooperation with the tax office on the first floor of the county office’s ‘Local Tax and National Tax Integrated Civil Service Office’ until the 31st.
Taxpayers with comprehensive income for 2020 must report the national comprehensive income tax and the local individual income tax to the competent tax office or county office during May.
However, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Sancheong-gun plans to provide reporting support at the joint assistance desk only to elderly persons aged 65 or older and persons with disabilities among those who received the ‘Moduchaeum Report Form.’
The ‘Moduchaeum Report Form’ refers to a report form sent to small business operators subject to the simple expense ratio, which records everything from income amount to tax payable.
Those subject to the ‘Moduchaeum Report’ will receive a comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax filing guide and payment slip together. Taxpayers are recognized as having filed if they pay the amount stated on the payment slip.
When using online services, if comprehensive income tax is filed through the National Tax Service’s ‘Hometax,’ users will be redirected to the local tax ‘WETAX’ without additional authentication, and the individual local income tax report form will be automatically filled for one-click filing.

A county official said, “Since local tax and national tax-related tasks can be handled at the county office at once, we hope residents make the most of this convenience,” and added, “We will strengthen publicity for residents’ individual local income tax filing and payment and do our best to ensure no inconvenience in filing and payment.”
