BGF Welfare Foundation Supports Weekend Meals for Food-Insecure Children... Signs MOU with Dongjak-Gwanak Office of Education
BGF Welfare Foundation has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Dongjak-Gwanak Office of Education to support weekend meals for children experiencing food insecurity.
View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] BGF Welfare Foundation announced on the 4th that it has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Dongjak-Gwanak Office of Education to support weekend meals for children from low-income families in Dongjak and Gwanak districts.
Since last year, BGF Welfare Foundation has been operating the "Jibeuro On (溫) Bap" project in collaboration with the Seoul Gangseo-Yangcheon Office of Education, utilizing the fresh delivery infrastructure of the online food life shop Hello Nature to support weekend meals for children from low-income families.
This project enables children from low-income families, who have difficulty using care centers on weekends, to have a warm meal at home with food delivered early in the morning. Each week, a nutritionist carefully selects various products sold by Hello Nature, considering the children's nutritional needs. Special meals are also provided for seasonal occasions such as Chobok and Dongji. Even when children prepare their own meals, the menu is designed to minimize cooking risks by offering dishes that can be easily prepared using a microwave.
Last year, BGF Welfare Foundation shared a total of 3,200 meals with children, and starting this year, it plans to expand the support to include meals for siblings of the supported children, providing a total of 5,000 meals.
