Gurye-gun, Temporary Livelihood Support for COVID-19 Crisis Households
50 Million KRW Provided Per Household Not Receiving Existing Welfare Benefits or Other COVID-19 Damage Support
Application Possible for Those with 75% Median Income and Property Below 300 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Sun-ho) announced on the 3rd that it will promote a ‘temporary livelihood support’ project for low-income blind spots who have not received other COVID-19 damage support, despite experiencing crises such as income reduction due to COVID-19.
The county will provide 500,000 KRW to low-income households who are struggling to make a living due to income reduction during the COVID-19 situation but do not receive other welfare programs or COVID-19 damage support programs.
The income criterion targets households with income at 75% of the median income standard, and the property criterion applies to those with assets of 300 million KRW or less; financial assets and debts are not applied.
Accordingly, a rural four-person household not receiving separate welfare support can receive a temporary livelihood support fund of 500,000 KRW if their monthly income is 3.65 million KRW or less and their property is 300 million KRW or less.
Applications can be made only by the head of the household on the Bokjiro website from the 10th to the 28th, and from the 17th to the 4th of next month, the head of the household or household members can apply on their behalf at the resident registration jurisdiction's eup/myeon office.
Applicants must apply with their ID and documents proving income reduction.
The county plans to simplify the proof documents for households that have difficulty proving income reduction to enable as many residents as possible to receive support.
If there is no proof of income reduction, the applicant can submit a self-written income and sales reduction report, and the support decision will be made after deliberation by the ‘Gurye-gun Emergency Support Deliberation Committee.’
