Hyundai Motor Temporarily Halts Ulsan Porter Production Line Due to Semiconductor Supply Shortage
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Due to supply issues with automotive semiconductors, Hyundai Motor Company will temporarily halt production on the Porter line at its Ulsan plant.
According to the automotive industry on the 3rd, Hyundai will suspend operations on Line 2 of Ulsan Plant 4, the Porter production line, for two days on the 6th and 7th.
The decision to halt production was made due to difficulties in securing some semiconductor components used in the Porter.
Last month, from the 7th to the 14th, Hyundai temporarily closed Ulsan Plant 1, which produces dedicated electric vehicles Ioniq 5 and Kona, due to semiconductor and drive motor supply issues, and the Asan plant was also closed for about four days.
