[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 3rd, Naju City in Jeollanam-do held a regular May assembly for Family Month in the main conference room of the city hall, attended by about 70 department heads and heads of eup, myeon, and dong.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "Please make every effort to implement quarantine measures in preparation for COVID-19 vaccination and the fourth wave," and urged, "Until the vaccination rate reaches 70% to form herd immunity, please strictly follow the quarantine rules without a moment's negligence."
He also encouraged the staff for their achievements last month, including the designation of the Jeongchon Ancient Tomb Excavated Gilt-bronze Shoes as a treasure (No. 2125), the inclusion of the 광주-Naju metropolitan railway network construction, and securing 17.2 billion KRW in national funds for the Donggang and Sanpo-myeon drainage improvement project.
The city ordered thoroughness in this month’s key tasks: "COVID-19 vaccination and quarantine measures promotion," "securing national funds and rapid execution of finances," and "establishing public service discipline."
Mayor Kang emphasized, "Although it is not easy to visit central government ministries due to the COVID-19 situation, securing national funds for smooth financial management is of utmost importance," and added, "In preparation for the Ministry of Strategy and Finance’s review of this year’s national treasury support projects scheduled for next month, please make every effort to secure the budget by promoting visits to central government ministries through close cooperation with the external cooperation office."
After the regular assembly, the city gifted employees a book that contains the meaning and preciousness of family.
This book gift was prepared as a surprise event for Family Month to encourage the hard work of employees who silently perform their duties going back and forth between home and workplace for the happiness and safety of citizens and the development of city administration amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Mayor Kang said, "I hope this book will be an opportunity to spend more time with family," and added, "We will do our best to create a lively workplace atmosphere where colleagues understand and care for each other like family, as well as to operate family-friendly workplace systems for work-family balance."
