[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Hanjin announced on the 3rd that it completed the on-site health checkups last month for about 10,000 delivery drivers, trunk line drivers, and branch managers, which had started in January.

This health checkup was part of the measures to prevent overwork of delivery drivers announced in October last year. Considering the difficulty for delivery drivers to visit hospitals, the checkup buses visited 100 terminals nationwide. At the health checkup sites, drivers could receive checkups without any separate travel or cost burden.

The company fully covered the approximately 450 million KRW cost incurred for the health checkups, which included about 60 items such as cerebrovascular and cardiovascular tests, blood tests, lipid metabolism, hypertension, liver function, and arthritis. Drivers will be able to receive these checkups regularly once a year going forward. Based on the checkup results, the affiliated branches will review adjustments to workload and delivery areas through interviews with drivers showing health abnormalities.

In response to the increase in delivery volume, a personalized healthcare solution is being developed to monitor real-time health abnormal signs of delivery drivers.

To this end, in March, Hanjin signed a business agreement with MoaData, an AI specialized company based on anomaly detection technology, to build the healthcare solution. The solution is being developed to analyze real-time health status data from smart wearables and health checkup results, aiming for delivery drivers and managers to detect health abnormal signs in advance through real-time monitoring.

Hanjin stated, "We will establish the healthcare solution service within this year and make every effort to manage delivery drivers' health in conjunction with regular health checkups," adding, "We plan to improve working conditions by expanding investment in terminal automation to reduce sorting operation waiting times."
