Operating a Dream Playground Activity Program to Foster Creativity and Adventurous Spirit... Held Twice Weekly at 7 Children's Playgrounds Starting in May
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will operate the Dream Playground activity program linked to the ‘One Neighborhood, One Creative Playground Project,’ which has been promoted to spread a creative play culture led by children, starting in May.
Last year, the district prepared various play programs to encourage children’s creative play activities and conducted a pilot operation through consignment management by a professional company. Due to high satisfaction from participating children, parents, and local residents, the program will expand from 5 locations last year to 7 locations this year.
The Dream Playgrounds where the play activity programs will be operated include a total of 7 locations: ▲ Mujigae Children's Park (inside Mokdong 7 Complex Apartments) ▲ Mugunghwa Children's Park (Mokdong 712-1) ▲ 2nd Urban Agriculture Park (Sinwol-dong 350-31) ▲ Taeyang Children's Park (Sinwol-dong 422-1) ▲ Haneulmaru Children's Park (Sinjeong-dong 1316-2) ▲ Ansan Children's Park (Sinjeong-dong 949-4) ▲ and the adventure playground inside Seyang Children's Park (Sinjeong-dong 1306-2).
The play activity programs will be operated under various themes such as cooperation, order, senses, emotions, body movement, and nature play. They will run regularly twice a week throughout the year (except during extreme heat or cold) as basic programs, and also as seasonal nature-specialized programs themed on nature.
Starting in May, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, programs will be held at Mujigae, Haneulmaru, Mugunghwa, and Taeyang children’s playgrounds; on Wednesdays and Fridays, at Seyang and Ansan children’s playgrounds; and the adventure playground in the 2nd Urban Agriculture Park will operate programs three days a week on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
The operating hours are from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and the participants are infants to children (elementary school students), who can join after on-site registration.
The district posts banners and flyers at each playground to announce the program schedule and provides information on the district office website and official SNS channels such as Facebook.
Additionally, the program will be operated in compliance with quarantine rules such as capacity limits according to the COVID-19 social distancing level. For more details, inquiries can be made to the district office’s Parks and Greenery Division or the Nature Friends Research Institute.
