Seocho-gu to Operate Help Desk for May Comprehensive Income Tax and Individual Local Income Tax
May 3-31, Direct Tax Filing Available at Seocho Culture and Arts Center B1 Help Desk Without Visiting Tax Office...Taxpayers Can Expedite Processing by Bringing National Tax Service 'Modu Chaeum Report'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jo Eun-hee) will operate a help desk where residents can simultaneously file comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax from May 3 to 31.
Since individual local income tax reporting was transferred to local governments starting in 2020, taxpayers must file separately with the tax office and the local government. To alleviate taxpayers' inconvenience, Seocho-gu operates a comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax help desk on the basement level 1 of the Seocho Culture and Arts Center, allowing residents to complete the process in one visit without needing to go to the tax office.
The district actively encourages electronic filing using mobile devices and PCs to prevent COVID-19. Taxpayers who wish to file electronically can report comprehensive income tax through the National Tax Service Hometax system, then click the individual local income tax filing button, which automatically connects to WETAX, enabling easy filing of individual local income tax without separate input.
However, for elderly taxpayers aged 65 or older and disabled taxpayers who find electronic filing difficult, the help desk will provide active support to facilitate convenient filing. Additionally, for all-inclusive filing applicants who visit, direct filing support through identity verification will also be provided.
Meanwhile, with the introduction of the simplified individual local income tax filing system, approximately 24,000 small business operators in the region will receive an all-inclusive filing form that includes the local income tax payment slip. Taxpayers can complete their filing simply by paying the amount stated on the payment slip.
Furthermore, the payment deadline for comprehensive income tax and individual local income tax will be extended ex officio to August 31, focusing on small business operators severely affected by COVID-19.
Taxpayers subject to the ex officio extension will receive a notice indicating the extended payment deadline, and the extension status can also be confirmed through the National Tax Service Hometax comprehensive income tax filing assistance service.
The district will also actively support taxpayers who are not subject to the ex officio extension but face difficulties in filing or payment due to COVID-19 and apply for an extension.
In addition, if a "Good Landlord" (a landlord who reduces rent for small business tenants) applies for a tax credit, the payment deadline will be automatically extended to August 31. Taxpayers whose payment deadlines are extended ex officio are not required to provide tax payment guarantees due to the extension.

Seocho-gu Mayor Jo Eun-hee stated, “We will thoroughly prevent COVID-19 by equipping the individual local income tax help desk with thermometers, disinfectants, transparent partitions, and masks, and we will prepare thoroughly to ensure that visiting taxpayers can conveniently file through collaboration with the Seocho and Banpo tax offices in the region.”
