Village Instructors, Biographical Books, and Future Education Center Linked with 'SongpaSsaem'... Increased School Engagement
Full-scale Implementation of SongpaSsem (SSEM) Innovative Education Program... Production and Distribution of 'SongpaSsem Integrated Education Guide'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The unique educational model of Songpa-gu, Songpa SSEM, has become even closer to the 89 schools within the district.
Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) announced on the 2nd that it will officially implement the innovative education program of Songpa SSEM (School and Social Environment Model), which supports student education through cooperation between schools and the local community.
The district has launched the 'Songpa SSEM School-Linkage Project' to reduce confusion among school teachers caused by complex support methods and to enable easier and more convenient access to a wider variety of programs.
First, the district produced the ‘Songpa SSEM Education Integrated Guide,’ which comprehensively covers human and material resources such as Songpa-gu village instructors, biographical books, and the Future Education Center, and distributed it to local schools in March.
The Songpa SSEM School-Linkage Project offers over 200 programs across six fields: ▲Guest Lectures ▲Creative Activities ▲Career Exploration ▲Future Education ▲Career Experience ▲Character Education, providing educational expenses to participating schools.
Following two online briefing sessions, schools responded positively as they could immediately utilize local human resources, reducing unnecessary administrative efforts such as hiring instructors, while offering students diverse educational opportunities.
In particular, middle school classes on the 4th Industrial Revolution (AI, coding, etc.) faced difficulties in conducting direct education due to a lack of specialized equipment within schools. However, by linking with Songpa SSEM’s Future Education Center, many inquiries about visiting the center for education have been received.
Additionally, music and arts classes (one instrument per student, choir clubs, etc.), which are recent areas of interest for schools, are expected to become more vibrant by borrowing necessary instruments from the Songpa SSEM Instrument Library, scheduled to be completed in May this year, or by utilizing the Music Creation Studio.
As of April, the district has linked with 46 schools, accounting for 52% of local schools, supporting their education, and plans to continue supporting other schools in the area that wish to participate.
This Songpa SSEM School-Linkage Project has significantly increased schools’ interest in and utilization of Songpa SSEM, laying the foundation for it to grow into the world’s largest educational platform.
