Kim Yo-jong: "Anti-North Leaflets Are Unacceptable Provocations... Considering Corresponding Actions"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Workers' Party, described the distribution of anti-North Korea leaflets as an "unforgivable provocative act" and stated that "corresponding actions will be considered." She shifted responsibility to the South Korean authorities, saying they "did not properly control" the situation.
In a statement on the 2nd, Deputy Director Kim said, "Recently, defectors in South Korea carried out an unforgivable provocative act by distributing anti-Republic leaflets."
She pointed out, "We have sternly warned about the consequences that the wrongful actions of the South Korean authorities, who tolerated these reckless acts, would have on inter-Korean relations," adding, "Nevertheless, this time the South Korean authorities again neglected and failed to stop the reckless behavior of the defectors."
Deputy Director Kim used harsh expressions toward the defectors such as "trash" and "crawling around," emphasizing, "I cannot hide my disgust at such very filthy behavior."

She also warned of provocations and responses regarding the leaflet distribution. Deputy Director Kim said, "We consider the unrest occurring in the South as a serious provocation against our state and will consider corresponding actions," adding, "Whatever decisions and actions we take, the South Korean authorities, who failed to properly control the situation, will bear full responsibility for the resulting consequences. We can no longer just stand by and watch."
