[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] Korea Railroad announced on the 1st that it will hold the "Let's Walk Together" challenge throughout May, collecting steps with the public to support donations for single-mother families.
This challenge was created to celebrate surpassing 800 million KTX users by walking 800 million steps and sharing the health benefits with single-mother families.
If the total accumulated steps of all participants reach 800 million during May, Korea Railroad employees will donate 80 million won, which they have regularly collected, to low-income single-mother families.
Anyone can participate. By installing the mobile application "WalkOn" on their smartphones, signing up, and selecting the "Korea Railroad Donation Challenge," they can apply. Participants' steps will be automatically counted from the 1st of this month, and upon reaching the goal, an online donation certificate will be issued.
Additionally, to provide continuous support for single-mother families, Korea Railroad plans to select beneficiaries in each of its eight regional headquarters and carry out customized projects such as △support for childbirth supplies △support for play and learning materials △online education.
