Gwangju City to Open Public Recruitment for Smart City Citizen Participation Group Until the 21st of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it will publicly recruit the ‘Smart City Citizen Participation Group’ until the 21st of next month to discover and implement smart city policy tasks that citizens can empathize with and experience.
The Citizen Participation Group receives information about the city and government’s smart city policies and plays a role in evaluating and providing feedback on the city’s smart city policies or services.
They will mainly propose creative items and conduct service satisfaction evaluations to solve urban problems in daily life such as transportation, environment, safety, and welfare by applying innovative technologies and services of the 4th Industrial Revolution era such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence.
The number of recruits is about 150, and any citizen who is interested in and can actively participate in the creation of a smart city in Gwangju can apply.

Lee Seung-gyu, the city’s Smart City Officer, said, “For the major policy of smart city policy to achieve its intended results, above all, citizens’ interest and participation are important. We formed the Citizen Participation Group to listen to various opinions from citizens and reflect them in the policy,” and added, “We ask for citizens’ great interest and active participation.”
