The Graduate School of Industrial Culture at Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) (Dean Kim Dong-il) has been holding free concerts since April at Vine Hall in Samcheon-dong, Jeonju City, inviting local residents as the audience. A total of four concerts will be held until June.
The concerts were planned as a cultural sharing initiative for the local community, led mainly by graduate students from the Jeollabuk-do region.
The performances involve Tak Kyung-joo, head professor of the New Media Music Department, instructor Kim Joo-hwan, instructor Choi Yeon-ji, and eight master's degree students.
On April 16 and 30, bassist Kim Yoon-sung, pianist Ahn Ye-sol, and drummer Hong Ji-hyung completed their performances.
On May 21, guitarist Hwang Jin will perform, and on June 4, singers Park Chan-yang, Ahn Hyun-sung, Kang Tae-wook, Yoon Sung-jong, and guitarist Park Joon-tae will take the stage.
Professor Tak Kyung-joo of the New Media Music Department at Dong-Eui University, who planned the concerts, said, “I hope this will be an opportunity for students to gain experience in the field and grow into music experts in the local community in the future.”
They plan to actively promote cultural performances for local residents who are in cultural blind spots.
