Wando-gun Provides 500,000 Won Temporary Livelihood Support Fund to Low-Income Households
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 30th that it will provide a one-time living support fund of 500,000 KRW for low-income households that have not received COVID-19 damage support such as the 4th disaster relief fund, despite income decreases due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The support target is households whose income from January to May this year has decreased compared to last year or 2019, with household income at or below 75% of the median income standard (2-person family monthly income of 2.31 million KRW) and assets of 300 million KRW or less (excluding financial assets and debts).
The support amount will be paid by bank transfer at 500,000 KRW per household regardless of the number of household members, and for those eligible for the agricultural and fishery management support voucher (300,000 KRW), the difference of 200,000 KRW will be provided.
Households that have received welfare programs such as Basic Livelihood Security (May livelihood benefits), Emergency Welfare (May livelihood support), or emergency employment stabilization funds, Buttress Plus funds, general taxi driver emergency employment stabilization funds, visiting care worker livelihood support, or charter bus driver income stabilization funds even once this year are excluded.
Online applications can be made through the Bokjiro website from the 10th to the 28th of next month, and in-person applications can be submitted at the welfare team of the local eup/myeon office from the 17th of next month to June 4th.
Ko Sang-sang, Director of the Resident Welfare Division, stated, “Through active promotion of this one-time living support project, we will ensure that low-income households affected by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic receive the support funds without omission.”
