The regional officer has been visiting each local government once a week since early January this year until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes, in accordance with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s ‘COVID-19 Response Regional Officer Operation Plan,’ to understand the regional response status and difficulties.
The regional officer who visited Yeongam-gun (Ha Jong-mok, Director of Local Tax Policy Division, Ministry of the Interior and Safety) received a report on the overall response status including proactive diagnostic testing and vaccination status and plans from Deputy Governor Park Jong-pil, and listened to suggestions and difficulties related to work promotion.
In particular, the proactive full-scale testing case of domestic and foreign workers in Daebul National Industrial Complex, which was selected as an excellent case in the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters regular meeting, and the private autonomous quarantine using the Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group and Volunteer Fire Brigade were highly evaluated as leading local governments in COVID-19 quarantine.
Also, the regional officer visited the COVID-19 vaccination center set up at Yeongam Indoor Gymnasium to inspect overall matters such as the smoothly progressing vaccination procedures targeting seniors aged 75 and older and elderly facilities, quarantine, and vaccine storage status, expressing encouragement and gratitude to the health center and related organizations doing their best on site.
