The Korea Multimedia Society was established in 1997 to lead multimedia technology development, facilitate academic exchange among experts, and disseminate related technologies. It is currently an IT academic organization with over 7,000 members.


The society holds two international academic conferences annually, MITA and JKCCS, as well as two domestic academic conferences in spring and fall. It publishes the KMMS journal indexed in the Korea Citation Index and the JMIS English journal 12 times a year.
